Where to Stay in Paso Robles

When choosing a hotel, the first thing that I usually look for is location. To me, location is everything. However, Paso Robles is one of those places where I would say that you don’t have to worry as much about the location of your hotel.

Most of the wineries are spread out and in different regions, so you will be driving no matter what. A lot of the hotels may be located off an exit off of the highway. However, you will still be within 5 to 10 minutes of downtown and 15 to 30 minutes from most wineries.

    Downtown Paso Robles

If it is your first time visiting Paso Robles or if you prefer to be closer to a lively atmosphere, Downtown Paso Robles may be the perfect location for you to book your hotel.

Downtown offers boutique shopping, farm-to-table restaurants, art galleries, and wine tasting rooms. It is a charming town, with brick sidewalks and historic buildings that line the streets. Even if you are not staying Downtown, you should absolutely make it a point to visit or make dinner reservations at one of the many delicious restaurants.

    Wine Country Planning Guide

🗓 What is the best time to visit? Wine tasting in California is always a good idea! However, my personal favorite time to visit wine country is in the spring. ☀️

You will have gorgeous weather, fewer crowds, wildflowers blooming, and more affordable accommodations.

🚗 Should I rent a car? Yes, if you plan on staying more than a night in Napa or Sonoma, I suggest you rent a car.

🏨 What’s the best way to book my accommodation? When visiting wine country I prefer to book hotels over Airbnb and VRBO. This is because a lot of the shared homes are too far from the wineries and they are usually pretty expensive.

Booking is a reliable site to book at thousands of hotels in California. They also have a great and flexible cancellation policy for no extra fee.
