Oh, Paris – the city of love, romance, and timeless elegance! As a fervent traveler and blogger, I recently embarked on a magical journey to the French capital, ticking off items from my very own Paris Bucket List. From strolling along the Seine River to marveling at the iconic Eiffel Tower, every moment felt like a dream brought to life.
The City of Light, as it’s fondly called, unveiled its truest beauty, capturing my heart and leaving an indelible mark on my wanderlust-filled soul. With its exquisite architecture, romantic allure, and artistic essence, Paris became a sanctuary where every moment felt like a brushstroke in a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to evoke a profound sense of awe and admiration.

Here are 3 things you MUST add to your Paris bucket list:
- Look out from the top of the Eiffel Tower: Tip, make sure to book tickets that include Summit Direct Access.
- Explore the Louvre Museum: Home to thousands of works of art, including the famous Mona Lisa.
- Sunset Cruise Along the Seine River: A sunset Seine River Cruise was a highlight of my trip to Paris. As the sun set, the Seine turned into a shimmering mirror reflecting Paris’s lights
Best Things to Do in Paris
1. Eiffel Tower at Sunrise
As this is undeniably my favorite way to kickstart a memorable Parisian adventure I suggest you start your day with a rendezvous at the Eiffel Tower. For the most spectacular sunrise view, make your way to Trocadéro Square.
The square is situated directly across the Eiffel Tower and offers panoramic, unhindered views. The best part is, that you will be one of the only people there to witness the first rays of dawn gently kiss its iron lattice.
For more incredible views of the city make sure to book tickets to visit the top of the Eiffel Tower. This is the tour that I chose, it gives you access to the Eiffel Tower Second Level and Summit Direct Access and comes with skip-the-line tickets.
When we were there, there was a huge line outside of this popular attraction, so the skip-the-line tickets came in handy.

Montmartre is a canvas of creativity. Meander through cobbled streets where artists capture the essence of Paris with strokes of their brushes. Pause in Place du Tertre to witness artists at work, creating masterpieces before your very eyes.
3. Picnic in Luxembourg Gardens
Among the manicured lawns and statuesque fountains of Luxembourg Gardens, lay out a Parisian picnic. The fragrance of blooming flowers and the rustling leaves of ancient trees create a sensory symphony.
4. Louvre Marvels
Within the Louvre’s hallowed halls, stand face-to-face with artistic giants. Allow the Mona Lisa to draw you into her enigmatic gaze, and let the delicate features of the Winged Victory of Samothrace transport you to ancient Greece. Every brushstroke and chisel mark tells a story.
As one of the top attractions in Paris, I suggest you book your tickets in advance to tour this iconic museum. This small group tour comes with an expert tour guide and no waiting in long line with skip-the-line tickets.

8. Palace of Versailles
Discover the lavishness and grandeur of The Palace of Versailles. As the former French royal residence, a visit to Versailles is like stepping into the pages of history, where every opulent room and sprawling garden tells the story of the Sun King, Louis XIV, and his successors.
The palace’s stunning Hall of Mirrors, magical gardens, and the Grand Trianon are an experience that offers a glimpse into the life of French royalty.
Palace of Versailles is more of a day trip since it is about a 45 minute drive from Paris. Also, the palace is closed on Mondays. Skip the hassle of getting to the Palace from Paris and book this tour that provides transportation. I wish we had done this because we had a hard time finding a taxi that would take us from Paris to Versailles. It wasted a lot of time and was more expensive.

Drifting under ornate bridges, I marveled at the enchanting spectacle, feeling like I was part of an exquisite painting as the city gracefully transitioned into a mesmerizing tapestry of lights.

There are 10 Laduree locations in Paris, however, the original is located on Rue Royale.

39. La Petite Ceinture
Explore the forgotten railway line known as La Petite Ceinture, which once circled Paris. Abandoned and overgrown with flora, it has been repurposed into a unique urban walking trail. 40. Notre Dame Cathedral
Since the fire at Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral on April 15, 2019, the building has been closed to the public. They are actively working on reopening for visitors for December 2024.
Notre Dame Cathedral Paris is famed for its awe-inspiring Gothic architecture and showcases stunning stained glass windows and intricate stone carvings that tell stories of a bygone era. Standing in its presence, you’ll feel the weight of centuries of history, art, and spirituality converging.
Even though you currently can not go inside the Notre Dame Cathedral, it is still worth a visit to see one of the oldest and most prominent cathedrals in France.
