Dog Friendly Restaurants Half Moon Bay
There is a long list of dog friendly restaurants in Half Moon Bay ranging from different cuisines, locations, views, and atmospheres. We love visiting Half Moon Bay with our two dogs! It’s one of our favorite places to take a day trip in the Bay Area with our pups.
In this post, you will find out the top dog friendly restaurants in Half Moon Bay and what there is to do in Half Moon with dogs to help you plan your day trip or weekend getaway.
1. Sam’s Chowder House
Samβs Chowder House is at the top of my list of dog friendly restaurants in Half Moon Bay. If this is your first time visiting, a meal at Samβs Chowder is a must! They serve classic New England-style seafood, and their lobster rolls are out of this world. Itβs a little bit of a splurge, but totally worth it, especially if you are sharing.
You have the option of ordering your lobster roll either cold and βdressedβ in a lemon aioli or βnakedβ with butter served warm. The lobster rolls are overflowing with chunks of tender and buttery lobster. We also split the New England Clam Chowder and Crab Cakes. Both are great choices and loaded with fresh seafood.
Besides serving delicious seafood, Samβs Chowder Houseβs patio has a stunning view overlooking the pacific ocean. After your meal, you can stretch those legs on the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail or the Pillar Point Harbor Beach outside of the restaurant.
2. Half Moon Bay Brewery Company
A local and tourist favorite is the Half Moon Bay Brewery Company. If you want a laid-back atmosphere, beautiful views, good food, and beer, this is the place for you. And the perfect option for a dog friendly restaurant in Half Moon Bay.
They have a lovely outdoor patio with heaters, a fire pit, music, and gorgeous views overlooking the bay. And they are super dog friendly! They even have a dog friendly menu, with chicken or hamburger. You can’t get any more welcoming than that.
Half Moon Bay Brewery serves an assortment of fresh seafood options, soups and sandwiches, and of lots of beer on tap from their craft brewery. Half Moon Bay Brewery is a great stop for some views, brews, and pub food along the Coastal Trail.
3. Half Moon Bay Bakery
If you have a sweet tooth like me, I am always searching for the best bakery in every town that we visit. The Half Moon Bay Bakery is the perfect spot to treat yourself to something sweet.
When you walk into the small bakery, it has that old-school feel. It takes me back to my childhood and this bakery my family would visit every Sunday for their sprinkled butter cookies. Half Moon Bay Bakery has an assortment of pastries, cookies, pies, apple fritters, freshly baked bread, and many more.
They only have one table outside. However, just about 30 feet away at the corner, there are a bunch of picnic tables where you can sit down and enjoy your baked goods. Half Moon Bay Bakery is along the main street downtown and is closed on Mondays.
It it important to know before your visit to Half Moon Bay Bakery, it’s not the most dog friendly option of restaurants on this list. I don’t think they will not come out and serve you from the outdoor table. So you will need to either go with a friend or tie your dog up outside.
4. Miramar Beach Restaurant
Another popular dog friendly restaurant in Half Moon Bay is the Miramar Beach Restaurant. It is a favorite restaurant because of its prime location and dog friendly patio. Miramar Beach Restaurant is oceanfront and boasts Pacific coastline views.
The Miramar patio is the place to be, even if you don’t have a dog. The outdoor patio has fire pits and spot heaters to keep you warm from the ocean breeze. The restaurant also overlooks Mirada Beach, a dog friendly beach.
Our two dogs loved running along Mirada Beach after our dinner at Miramar. It was the perfect way to tire them out one last time before our trip home.
Miramar serves a variety of seafood options, sandwiches, salads, and steak. They do not take reservations at this time, so be prepared to put your name down for the patio.
5. Pasta Moon
Are you craving the comfort of hearty Italian food? Then Pasta Moon is a must-visit for you! Pasta Moon is a Michelin Guided restaurant and hands down one of Half Moon Bays’ most popular restaurants for dinner. They have perfected farm-to-table contemporary Italian cuisine.
Try their famous lasagna, a house-made Sicilian Sausage, Ricotta, Parmesan, Chili Flake, Tomato Sauce, and Mozzarella. And don’t forget dessert. The Ghirardelli Butterscotch Pudding is also a favorite.
You can find Pasta Moon at the southern end of the quaint downtown Half Moon Bay. Before or after dinner, plan to make time strolling along Half Moon Bay’s main street of local shops, art galleries, and bakeries.
Before your visit, I suggest making a reservation and note that you will be bringing a dog because there are limited outdoor tables. Also, Pasta Moon is open Thursday to Monday for dinner service only.
6. Moss Beach Distillery
If you’re looking for a dog friendly restaurant in Half Moon Bay with the best view, then you must make your reservation at Moss Beach Distillery. Their Seal Cove Patio offers unobstructed views overlooking the Pacific ocean and the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. 7. Sacrilege Brewing + Kitchen
The first time we visited here, we honestly found it by accident. But we are so glad we did! We stumbled upon Sacrilege Brewing + Kitchen on a Monday afternoon when celebrating my husband’s birthday. It’s the perfect spot to sit back and relax with a beer and some yummy food.
